Our Aim

Is to stimulate interest in the Dexter breed, to advise and assist new and potential owners of Dexter cattle, and to encourage efficient breeding of Dexter cattle with a view to improving the breed. In addition, the Group provides a means for conveying the opinion of the Group members to the Dexter Cattle Society.

About Us

The Mid Wales and Shropshire Group,  acts as a support network to Dexter keepers in that area and is made up of Dexter enthusiasts of varying ages and experience. 

Members receive regular newsletters and can attend meetings, social evenings and activities that are scheduled throughout the year in the Mid Wales and Shropshire area.  Shown below are the types of events that have been organised or are planned for the future - 

  • Halter training
  • Making dairy products
  • Foot trimming
  • Preparing cattle for the show ring
  • Introduction to showing
  • Genetics
  • Homeopathy
  • Butchery
  • Beef production
  • Herd visits

Membership is relatively inexpensive and you do not need to be a member of the Dexter Cattle Society to be accepted.
